Transylvania tour with medieval perfume
Day 1: Bucharest – Sinaia – Bran – Brasov – Sighisoara
The first day will start with a trip from Bucharest to the charming mountain resort of Sinaia where we are going to visit the Peles Castle, built in a Neo-Renaissance style, during the reign of King Carol I.
The fabulous mountain landscape of the Carpathian Mountains is just a part of the wonderful sceneries of Romania. Once we left them behind, we arrive in Bran Village, where Dracula’s Castle rises majestically, reminding us of the feared legendary character.
The day will not end before visiting one of the best-preserved medieval cities of Transylvania: Brasov, the city at the foot of Mount Tâmpa. Among the tourist attractions we will enjoy in our guided Transylvania tour, we are mentioning The Black Church, the largest gothic church between Vienna and Istanbul, The Council Square and the city’s 14th century fortifications. The tour will end with a panoramic view of the Old Town from one of Brasov’s medieval towers.
The night will be spent in the heart of the Sighisoara Citadel, one of the most beautiful and best-preserved medieval towns in Europe.
Day 2: Sighisoara – Sibiu – Bucharest
The inhabited Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site will be the main focus of our stop in Sighisoara. Here we will visit some important tourist attractions such as the Church on the Hill, the Clock Tower, the Venetian House and the famous Vlad Dracula’s birth house, but the truth is that the Old Town as a whole is a tourist attraction in itself. This perfectly intact 16th century citadel with nine towers, cobbled streets, colorful burgher houses and ornate churches has a genuine charm and magic!
Leaving Sighisoara behind, our medieval Transylvania tour continues the next day exploring Sibiu, a vivid city with colorful houses and many festivals which led to an increase in Sibiu tourism over the years.
We will walk through historical centre of Sibiu, including the Great Square, Huet Square, the beautiful Passage of Steps connecting the upper town to the lower town, the well-known Bridge of Lies, Goldsmiths’ Square and the Small Square. You will have the opportunity to visit some famous tourist attractions of Sibiu, such as Brukenthal Museum, the oldest and one of the finest art museums in Romania, the Evangelical Cathedral, an impressive gothic structure, featuring five pointed towers, or the Roman-Catholic Church, built in the first half of 18th century in beautiful baroque style with classical decorations.
During our 2 days Transylvania tour you will have the chance to try some delicious Romanian plates such as sarmale, a cabbage leaf roll of seasoned meat, and bulz ardelenesc (Transylvanian “bulz”) which consists of cornmeal porridge studded with two types of cheese, eggs and smoked bacon. But if you are not eager to try new plates, you’ll have a rich international menu at your disposal in the restaurants included in our program.
We are sure that our guided Transylvania tour with its popular tourist destinations will leave an unforgettable memory for all of you and you’ll be eager to discover some other great tourist destinations in Romania with us.
